Allergic to Mondays

So I fully intended on posting this yesterday, but as you will find out, as soon as I got out of work I started pounding Benadryl's like it was my job. Which also means I was out by 8. In fact I'm still downing 2 every 4 hours like clockwork so the sleepies have taken over my brain and it's all I can do to stay conscious at work today. So instead of going through and fixing the days and tenses you are getting yesterday's post like it happened today. Laziness for the win.

I woke up this morning to find myself covered in a rash. My stomach, back, neck, arms, hands, ankles, thighs, and knees. Ashley told I just must be allergic to Mondays. Unfortunately I don't think that will get me out of work today. Unless the rash spreads to my face. I think a face rash might get me out of it... I'm counting down until I can go home and chug some Benadryl.

The weekend went a whole lot better, after we tackled Friday, than my morning has though. Friday was a giant suck fest at the DMV. Renewing registration, attempting to renew my drivers license, rain... Good news is I get to go back this Friday with mountains of paperwork and actually renew my license. Stupid name change.

The rest of the weekend we climbed! Climbed and slept and ate pancakes and French toast. We ignored the sink full of dishes and piles of unwashed clothes and ate brownies and watched movies instead.

Taking a little snooze on the climb
I climbed Puppet Strings again. The climb scares me. I don't like the moves and the ending is Hard. Although everything up until the end is pretty easy, I'm really just being a baby. So I had a bit of a breakdown before climbing it on Sunday. I'm up there freaking out because I don't want to do the last big moves and finally decide the sooner I try the sooner I will fall and can just dangle there and pull my ish together. So I go for it. And I stuck the hold! And then I pulled myself up like a freaking champ. I climbed that beast on the first try that night. I've seen countless guys fail or give up on the ending of this climb and somehow it was almost easy for me yesterday. I tricked myself into thinking if I climbed it once I could be done with it, but I'm pretty sure I'll need to climb it a few more times so I can conquer the fear. Of course, I may be singing a different tune when the time comes to climb again...

As a side note there was another climb where if you fell, you swung... FAR. So of course I was swinging around because home girl loves to fall. On my third fall I was swinging around and coming at the wall backwards (which, hello, no biggie, your not going to smash into the wall genius, weren't you some sort of science major Danielle, come on!) so I start screaming... and crying... and laughing... all at the same time. Seriously it was outrageous. Also, I never really knew you could be laughing and crying hysterically at the same time. It's possible folks.

Clearly Chad is not afraid of Puppet Strings.
Luckily the rash was looking so much better this morning. It's gone from angry, screaming red, to a light blushy pink.

All of the batteries are dead

It started with the car yesterday morning.

Then the computer
Then the other computer
And the guys camera Chad was trying to buy off craigslist
Then the Apple TV remote

And the car again
And then again just for kicks and giggles.

Obviously all the batteries could be recharged... Except of course for one. Needless to say we now have a new battery in our car which will let me get to work on time and allow Chad to make it to class today.

Oh Mondays. You suck.

The hubby replacing the battery in a suit. Cause that's how he rolls.

Monday, Tuesday Fail

I had a beautiful post for you Monday. It was glorious really.

Ok... it wasn't that exciting really, but it had a rockin' recipe for Blueberry Muffins. My mom's Blueberry Muffins. Our Christmas Blueberry Muffins :) Mmmmm

Thanks to CTRL Z you don't get to see it. Stupid CTRL Z. Instead of undoing the last thing I did it just undid everything, leaving me staring at a blank page. Excellent. Then blogspots handy dandy autosaver saved my blank page. Thanks so much.

While I could have just re-wrote the darn post it seemed like a lot of work. Plus it was 11pm and that's when cranky, sleepy Danielle comes out to play. It's best if she just goes to sleep/relaxes and doesn't actually try to do anything productive. It's best for everyone, especially Chad ;)

Yesterday I also had grand plans at writing something super awesome. Except I really didn't have anything super awesome. And.... Chad and I didn't make it home for good until 9pm. We finished eating dinner around 10. Tuesdays are shaping up to be killer days. Hopefully we'll get into the swing of things and our schedules will smooth out a little bit.

I hung out for an hour after work until Chad's class ended and he picked me up at 5, I then dropped him off at school and rushed home to make dinner and wait for the maintenance man who never came. I was welcomed with lots of tiny little ants all over the counter and stove top. Sweet. I sprayed them all with whatever chemical concoction was available and just left them there to die. Gross, I know. Our once small ant problem is spreading around the kitchen. Grrr.

I went to pick up Chad at 7 and after running some errands and getting some more school supplies we finally made it home. The ants were gone. Seriously, all of the previously killed ants had disappeared. Now there were still a bunch of live ants running around but my dead ones were gone. Where did they go?

The ants are just the tip of the iceburg though. We've got these beauties outside on our patio.

Not the best picture but that is a black widow. Chad got some better pictures on the real camera. sorry :(

And cockroaches that keep sneaking into our house. They like to run in when I open the door. Gross. I've also been informed that scorpions will come out to play as the weather cools down. I am not preparred for scorpions. Or running into one of these for that matter.

Yup, that's a freakin' tarantula. We ran into him hiking at Zion's. He was actually pretty cool.

I was not properly prepared for the bug situation here. Because, for real, it's a situation.

We discovered poor Rukia had ants all over her last night. EEEEWWWW. We finally figured it out when we saw her food bowl c-o-v-e-r-e-d in them. No wonder she wasn't interested in eating any of her food.

Chad stayed up late last night trying to remedy the situation while I passed out early. There is lots of RAID in our future.

Not only did he attempt to fix our ant problem, fingers crossed it works, but he put dinner away, took out the pup and hauled the trash outside for pick up. After being in class from 9 until 7. All while I slept. Did I mention that he also made half of our dinner? He's great like that. :)

Drug Test and Syphilis Scare

Oh Monday, you did not disappoint today. I was woken up to the Parks and Rec Human Resource Manager telling me that they would love to hire me, for half of what I was making at my previous job. Granted, my previous job required schooling, and training, and some kind of skill. The woman informed me that I would first need to pass a drug test. Yay! So first up today was to take a drug test so that I can run a carousel part time in the park. Don't be jealous.

Meanwhile, we've received two notices for certified mail for Chad. We finally saw that it was from BioLife, the plasma donation center. What in the world would they be sending via certified mail? We called Matt to see what they would be sending us, all we could come up with is that during the blood test Chad tested positive for some sort of deadly disease. Matt pretty much confirmed this for us. Double Yay! So we headed up to the post office before my drug test. The first letter told Chad that he had tested positive for something. That was it. Nice and specific. The second letter had a packet of information on syphilis. What?! Awesome.

Chad called BioLife while I picked up some paperwork to take with me to the drug testing. After being closely supervised during the test, and feeling very much like a druggie somehow, we finally wrapped up that fun portion of our day and headed on to BioLife. We had come up with all kinds of crazy stories about how Chad had contracted some crazy disease in Africa, although our stories really weren't consistent with syphilis. We weren't too concerned, but you always hear those crazy stories about how people find out they have cancer or what not when they give blood. Chad met with some medical personnel for literally a hot second, where they told him that it was just a false positive. Seriously? A whole packet full of information on some crazy STD over a very false positive? Come on people.

So Chad's in the clear, it will take 24 hours to see how I fare on my test. Keep your fingers crossed!

Backing up a day, Chad and I both got callings at church on Sunday. Chad is the first counselor in the Young Men's presidency. This is perfect for Chad, and he is pretty excited about it! I am less than thrilled about my calling, I am in the senior nursery. I figure this will be a great way to meet people and make some friends. If there's anywhere I can make friends it's in a nursery with a bunch of psycho babies kicking and pulling my hair (and throwing toys at my face, seriously? what's wrong with them?) and manning a carousel. Not happy.

Hope that your weekend was awesome and that your Monday was much better than ours! Hopefully Tuesday will be kinder to us.
