Life Lately

Our free time has become super lazy. But at least we've graduated from living/sleeping on the couches to the bed! We spend a lot of time there, eating, playing video games, and watching way too much tv and movies. But really, we don't have many options, so tv it is! Just in case you find yourself in a similar situation, hopefully with a Netflix account, here are some "new to us" shows that we've been watching. Luckily shows that are all wrapped up, no waiting till next week for a new episode, just pure binge watching at it's finest.

Damages, Glenn Close is a killer lawyer and I want to be her so badly!

Twin Peaks, Chad watched this on Netflix and is stoked for the 3rd season to come out even though the 2nd season wrapped up in the 90's.

The F Word, The F Stands for Food guys, come on!, but it's Gordon Ramsey's show so you know there is a lot of the other F word involved as well. If you don't mind that though it's an awesome show, we already went out and found the cook book that goes with the show! Skip the 1st season and just start on the 2nd, you have to go to Hulu for this gem.

Mind of a Chef, the first season was awesome, clearly we enjoy food shows.

Just to keep things interesting Chad decided a fort was in order. So we had a little love tent situation going on for a while. It kept us nice and cozy at night, made Penny feel super protected and cuddly and freaked the heck out of Rukia. Finally one night Rukia was laying on the corner of the bed, on top of the sheet and took the whole darn thing down right on to Chad's head. We threw it all to the side and continued sleeping. Penny managed to find a brand new cozy spot in spite of the tent's downfall.

Can you spot the kitty?
And just in case you missed out, here are our favorites. We've seen each episode more times that we can count and will regularly quote them. And by quote I mean recite the entire episode. Now that's love.

New Girl

Parks and Recreation

30 Rock, how have people never watched this?

How I Met Your Mother, thanks for getting us hooked on this way back when Patrick!

We also love Arressted Development, It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia, and Portlandia.

Any shows that you absolutely love? Share your favorites!!!

Five {Things} Friday

1. I'm finally feeling better. After lots of McDonald's shakes, Benadryl, vitamin C, and SLEEP, I am finally over whatever hell of a cold I had. I am also back to staying up later than 8:30, which makes Chad happy.

2. What Not to Wear is on Netflix. It's only one season but it's a season I haven't seen and I am blowing through them and loving every minute. Also, who wants to take me shopping?

What Not to Wear

3. My toilet attacked me this morning. Aaaaand the downstairs toilet is having it's own set of problems as well. Yikes.

4. Chad finally found a Christmas sweater last night at TJMaxx. We've only been looking for one that was cute and affordable for two years now, no biggie. Now to find one for me...

Ugly T-REX Christmas Sweater

5. It's hot cocoa season!!!! And since we are, season wise, a good month or two behind everyone else right now, it's also finally looking like Fall, apple cider season!!! Game plan for the weekend: Homemade Starbucks apple cider with as many donuts as we can find. Maybe an apple crisp as well, just for good measure.

Help, I've fallen and I can't get up!

No but seriously, I can't get up.

Although I can now almost manage to stand upright! Woot.

Two weekends ago I killed my back. Apparently my sciatic nerve got angry with me and my entire right back/butt seized up to "protect" it. Because that's super helpful. So I literally laid down all weekend and cried. Super fun party people over here. By the end of the weekend I was ready to hit the streets in search of drugs, or my neighbors. Unfortunately I still haven't worked out that conversation in my mind. So instead I assaulted my system with as much advil and extra strength Tylenol a person should be taking and eventually stopped because it was doing absolutely nothing.

On Monday my poor doctor had pity on me and sent me to a chiropractor where I figured out what the crap was going on and almost 2 weeks later, here I am. I saw him again this past weekend and he adjusted the heck out of my lower back/hips. So much so that I couldn't really move again this weekend. I was a whiny, crying, painful mess. It's been an awesome way to end the summer before Chad headed back to school on Monday. Poor, poor Chad.

Needless to say, we've been watching the most insane amount of TV ever... ever. If you're ever in need of some binge worthy tv, here's what we've been watching.

OMG, new favorite show ever. Why has it taken me so long to find New Girl.
After blowing through the 2 seasons I find myself wishing Will and Jared lived with us so we could be this show. I similarly find myself wishing this when watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Because those are people we should all want to be right?

So it took us a while to get into it, and it's pretty cheesy, but it has Lorelai and Egg as main characters and is basically a "where are they now" of Friday Night Lights. Speaking of which...

It's fantastic. The characters are awesome, the story is great, and Tim Riggins. "Nuff said.

Aaaaand just in case you've been living under a rock.... you need to watch Breaking Bad asap.
Mom and Dad, I'm talking to you.

Right Now

Right now I am....

Hating my stupid, cracked, dying phone. It won't hold it's charge if I decide to occasionally use it throughout the day. And that's not including the times that it refuses to charge at all when it's plugged in. The camera on it's stupid and the smashed front doesn't help either, but that one is my bad. Can't wait to be able to get a new one.

Watching old episodes of Project Runway at work. While the doctors away.... Don't worry, I will be paying for it with tomorrow's schedule.

Feeling sorry for the poor pup. Rukia has ear mites. Her ears are s-t-i-n-k-y. They are red, they have black and brown goop in them, it's a nasty situation. So the poor pup is shaking her head every 5 seconds and being super needy since she is feeling sicky. We are armed with Hydrogen Peroxide, Mineral Oil, Vitamin C powder and Vitamin E. So hopefully she will be feeling better soon.

Confused as to why eating Smacks cereal makes my pee smell like Smacks. It's gross.

Excited to go home and bake banana bread and chocolate chip cookies, but mostly excited about the oreo cupcake that my boss got me for lunch! Mmmmm

Dreading doing AbRipper tonight. I know it's only 15 mintues but it is the Worst.

Five {Confessions} Friday

1. I love donuts. I know, I know, everyone loves donuts. But I LOVE donuts. The best out there? Krispy Kremes. Hello lover! When we were visiting Ashley and Patrick one of my "must do's" was to go get a fresh, hot donuts at Krispy Kreme. If only there was a way to know if the Hot and Fresh sign was on? Oh wait, there's an app for that! Isn't technology wonderful?

While the hot and fresh and clearly the best donuts ever and krispie kremes will do. The Maverick gas station also has my beloved krispie kremes. We have been there enough to now know that they get delivered fresh from Vegas every night at midnight. We are now BFF's with the midnight Maverick workers. Awkward, maybe. Awesome, um.. yeah.

Let's be clear, I love all donuts. I am not a donut snob. Those cheap-o donuts covered in chocolate? Yum. The crumbly ones that come in a 6 pack? delish. The only donuts I don't like? The filled ones. Not my cup of tea. I don't need anything getting in the way of my beloved donut. 3 paragraphs later I realize I have a problem. My name is Danielle, and I am a donut addict.

2. The New Adventures of Old Christine is hysterical and one of my favorite shows, ever. Of course we love Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead and other such epic shows, yup I said epic. But there's just something about Old Christine that I just adore.

3. I cannot for the life of me ever "prove that I am not a robot" in under 5 attempts when trying to comment on people's blog! Does anyone else have this problem? Is there something wrong with my eyes/brain? Seriously, sometimes I just give up and don't comment on blogs because I can't pass the robot test. Maybe all the donuts are going to my brain...

4. Dinner and a Movie Dates are the best. Yeah, it's obviously fun to do other things too, and we do, but there's something awesome about this simple date. When we were first married I would get out of work at noon on Fridays. We would head out to El Patio, a tiny little Mexican restaurant right across the street from the movie theater, and stuff our faces full of chips and salsa and enchiladas and tacos (mmmm). We would get the cheaper lunch special and then get the cheaper, early tickets at the movies.

I can't ever understand when I hear people complaining that all they ever do on a date night is dinner and a movie. Maybe it's because this kind of date reminds me of our newly married days. But mostly I think we just love eating and movies! Ok, maybe a little of both ;)
.
5.  I have lost the ability to drive. Yup, it's gone people. First, Chad drives everywhere. And it's awesome. What's better than a handsome chauffeur? Second, we don't have to drive like we used to in Michigan. We don't ever have to get on the highway unless we are taking a serious road trip. There's nothing around St. George. It's all right here, or what there is, is all right here! And if I do happen to drive on the highway, it's a straight shot in any direction with pretty much no traffic, ever.

No longer do I have a 40 minute commute to work each way on 1-75 where it's survival of the fittest. I used to be a great driver, I didn't have a choice. Before the 40 minute commute I was driving down to Detroit everyday and that took a lot longer than 40 minutes. I was a lane changing, merging, aggressive :) driving queen. Now I can barely make the 8 minute drive to work on Friday mornings.

Anything you'd like to confess? ;)
