Escape!

Chad realized a few things once he started working at Kneaders,
  1. Waking up at 4 am every Saturday is horrible, awful, no good and rotten
  2. Working 10 hour (or longer) shifts with absolutely no break is just as ridiculous
  3. He wasn't getting paid enough to make any of this even kinda worth it.
  4. I also did not like waking up that early to take him to work, and he in turn loved riding his bike in 100 degree weather to come pick up the car after work. whine, whine, whine....
So Chad started handing out more resumes and within the week had himself a shiny new job that didn't involve food, gross non skid shoes, or 4am. #Winning

In fact the woman who interviewed him loved him so much she told him that he didn't realize just how much he had to offer and instead of just offering him a sales associate position, she wanted him to be an assistant manager.

He's now working at White House Black Market and the women there literally cannot get enough of him. They love his style, the customers are constantly asking who they can leave great comments to about him, and his manager is loving him to bits. He's getting paid more since he's an assistant manager and we both don't have to wake up before the sun. Woot! In addition to that Chad's excited to be working somewhere where he can dress nice, get paid decent, and dress women. Because, let's be honest, having Chad dress you? That's the dream.

Bragging Rights

I needed to interrupt the awesome vacation stories and pictures to do a little bragging. A little Chad bragging. I know everyone thinks they have the best husband but I really do. Really.

I've done my fair share of Chad bragging before but the past couple of months he's gone above and beyond, especially out here by ourselves. Where the heck is family when you need them? (Oh, that's right, we were the ones with the bright idea to move as far away as possible.)

The whole cooking, cleaning thing has gone out the freaking window. For reals people. And not like, oh the past couple weeks I've been lazy, it's like the past couple months I can't move. Sooooo.... The past week consisted of me coming home from work and then literally sleeping until doing it all over the next day. He feeds me, gets me treats, keeps me hydrated, makes dinner, cleans the kitchen, and bathrooms, unpacked everything from vacation, takes care of all the animals and works his 5am shift. He makes sure my contacts are out and I don't smash my face while sleeping in my glasses. And the back/leg rubs.... come on. He sprays me down with the freeze spray before bed, in the morning, whenever he can get my pants down ;)  So good. Happy I could trick this guy into marrying me just before turning into a 95 year old crippled. #Jokesonyoubabe

He's replaced my purses this last week, surprised me with a new pair of sunglasses that are cuter than anything, secretly bought me the cutest coral pants that fit perfectly (didn't even have to try them on, man he's good) and is all around spoiling me in that way as well.

The patience and love this guy has for me is incredible and I am so lucky to have him watch over and care for me.

A Lovey List for a Lovey Day

From way back when at BYU when we first started dating.
Happy 9th Valentine's Day to my very favorite person. In honor of 9 big ones together here are 9 things that I absolutely love about Chad in no particular order.

1. He does the laundry and the dishes on a regular basis. In fact, I rarely do the laundry, and "rarely" is being generous. Also, I never vacuum. Or clean much of anything really.  #spoiled

2. His curly hair.

3. His generosity. He's given away his last $10 before to a (crazy) man who said he really needed it, we've turned the car around so he could help people with car troubles or chase down loose dogs for kids, and he'll always buy coupon cards from any kids that come to our door.

4. His passion for new hobbies. Once Chad gets excited about something he learns everything there is to know about it. He eats, breathes and lives it. Whether it's photography or climbing he's all in!

5. He pushes me to be better and to try new things. I'm a creature of habit and comfort. New things, people, experience, places all terrify me. Thanks to this guy I've become much braver and done things that I never would have dreamed of, and loosened up a little along the way.

6. His love for kids. Chad loves kids, loves being around them, talking to them and (duh) playing with them. Our primary class stole his heart in the Clarkston Ward and his nephews and nieces are his absolute favorite. We routinely come up with plans on how we can steal away our nieces and nephews and bring them home to live with us :) You've been warned parents.

7. His love of our fur babies. At one point we had a dog, 2 cats and a rabbit. We may be down to a cat and dog, but he loves them and we never would have gotten them if it hadn't been for Chad.

8. His love of the outdoors. Camping, Hiking, Climbing, Biking, he loves it all. I love it too but I know I wouldn't be out in it nearly as often without this guy. I love all the adventures that we go on and the many places that we've been able to see and enjoy together. We've hiked Angel's Landing and camped in Arches National Park among others. We've got many more on our list! I adore being outdoors with him.

9. That he truly is my best friend. There isn't anyone else I would rather spend my life with. I love waking up with him in the morning and spending all of my time with him until we fall asleep. I love adventuring with him, shopping with him, walking our dog, running to the gas station for caffeine, making dinner with him, driving around aimlessly late at night, doing crazy yoga poses with him, and just living my life with him. I love all of our fun adventures, but even more, I love the everyday with him.

Happy Valentine's!

Lunch of Champions

Sometimes I get a little dramatic... especially at work... especially when I'm bored... and especially when I'm feeling crappy.

Sometimes I send texts like this to Chad while he's in class:

"I'm dying. Let's skip school and work and go snuggle and watch TV and sleep and eat donuts."
Sometimes he plays along and says he'll come pick me up, or ask me what's wrong (hello? I'm at work), and sometimes he'll bring me this:

Because there's really no better pick me up than redbull and donuts. And that's why my husband is the best.

Three years ago there was a crazy snowstorm, a hastily bought substitute ring from KMart, "trespassing" at Cranbrook, a lot of friends, family and love. Three years ago I married my very best friend, and I've never been more happy.

The Crazies

Yesterday was a doozy.

Chad had school all day, it's his long day, and 3 tests to take. One was taken in class, which was nice, the other 2 had to be taken in the testing center.

I get out of work at 4, but he doesn't get out of his lab until 5. So I wandered around KMart (KMart is the worst, and ours is filthy). Then I walked back to work and he picked me up. I dropped him off at class and ran home to let out Rukia. Then back up to campus to bring a very loopy Chad some dinner.

You know how you start to go crazy after so many hours of class/studying/testing in one day? Yeah, he was there, and it was his first time experiencing the fun of it. After he ate I dropped him off at the Testing Center to tackle his last 2 tests and I went grocery shopping. Then I just wandered around stores until he was done. While not super stressful on my part I was definitely tired from being gone all day. If he didn't have the crazy before he definitely had them after 2 tests.

While I don't have pictures of Chad looking crazy while studying I have a plenty of me

After killing his tests we headed home around 10pm. Blah. We were welcomed home by a certain cat who didn't feel like using the litter box. Excellent. She really manages to have perfect timing. When we first got her she would jump up on the bed and start purring. I would wake up, look up at her and then wonder why my feet were getting so warm. Yup, she peed on me. This happened multiple times. What a sweetheart. Luckily we have moved past that. And while she cops an attitude at times at least she stopped peeing on me. I don't know how this turned into me talking about cat pee for so long....

Chad continued to be a champ taking out the trash, picking up, throwing in laundry from said cat incident, and taking out the dog. I crashed. Yup, the one who was in school all day, taking tests until his brain turned to mush was the one who kept on going at home while I promptly died. And I mean died. Like, fall asleep while your husband is talking to you, died. And that is reason #89237 why I love my husband.
